Smoking

Now I'm not going to discuss if smoking is bad or not... because a non smoker would more then likely say it is and a smoker would be more then happy to tell them to pi$$ 0^^ lol I want to no if smoking can be justified!

A typical scenario faced by a smoker is that they should quit because they are injuring other peoples health and damaging their own too. Now logically someone who smokes already knows that. Arguably someone who drives a car also knows they could lose control and kill a pedestrian walking on the pavement, the person who doesn't save energy no's that they could be the reason the whole worlds going to come to an end thanks to global warming!!! Then why does society choose to target the smokers? Why is smoking considered socially incorrect and selfish?

Are we just choosing to justify our actions as and when we please? Back in the day, smoking was considered as a rich persons leisure...the posher you are the longer your pipe would be, so whats changed???

Personally I'm not a smoker, and wouldn't encourage the habit, but I would argue in its defense that society is moulded in such a manner were acceptance changes like the latest fashion. Dangers are attached with all aspects of life...a sexually active person could get STI's yet society does not look down upon them!?!?!

Can comparison to a bigger issue make smoking justifiable???
